DP Patterning Revolutionizes Flexible PCB Production

Flex it. Shape it. Count on it.

DP Patterning offers a game-changing solution for in-house manufacturing of flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs), providing significant cost savings and environmental benefits. With customers in the automotive, RFID, and LED lighting sectors, the company is disrupting traditional practices that rely on outsourced production.

Flexible PCBs are widely used across industries, yet their production is often outsourced abroad, leading to high costs, long lead times, and environmental impact. DP Patterning’s innovative technology enables in-house manufacturing, cutting costs, reducing waste, and minimizing transport emissions.

Patented Technology with Revolutionary Results

The company’s dry phase patterning process eliminates the need for harsh chemicals, by mechanically removing material from a flexible substrate in a roll-to-roll system. This compact solution integrates the entire production chain, enabling customers to achieve up to 10 times faster production while significantly lowering environmental impact. Waste is collected as recyclable metal shavings, reducing negative effects by over 98%, according to a Fraunhofer Institute lifecycle analysis.

Investor Backing for Growth

Recognizing its transformative potential, the listed investment firm Byggmästaren has committed SEK 25 million, with an option to double the funding.

“The benefits for the customers are undeniable. DP Patterning is now ready to scale production and expand its workforce to meet growing demand,” says Tomas Bergström, CEO of Byggmästaren and chair of the new DP Patterning board of directors.

A Proven Track Record

DP Patterning supports leading manufacturers in automotive, RFID, and LED lighting, including Mühlbauer Group in Germany and U.S.-based Gentherm. The technology’s versatility continues to unlock new applications, meeting tailored customer requirements.

“This innovation opens the door to countless possibilities, many yet to be discovered. Together with our customers, we’re well-equipped to create versatile, business-focused solutions. With groundbreaking technology and strong investor support, we are set to lead the flexible PCB industry into a faster, more sustainable future,” says Staffan Nordlinder, CEO of DP Patterning.
