This policy explains how DP Patterning AB uses cookies and similar technologies on dppatterning.com. It covers what we store on your device, why we store it, how long it stays there, and how you can change your mind.

1. WHAT COOKIES ARE
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow a site to recognise your browser on a later page or a later visit, and they allow us and our suppliers to measure how the site is used.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way: local storage in your browser, and small tracking scripts and pixels loaded from other companies. Where this policy says "cookies", it means all of these.
2. YOUR CHOICE
We set strictly necessary cookies without asking, because the site cannot work without them. Everything else, meaning analytics and marketing, is set only after you have given your consent in the cookie banner that appears on your first visit.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops any further collection. It does not erase data that was collected while your consent was active. To have that data deleted, contact us at the address in section 9.
Refusing does not limit your access to any part of the site. If you close the banner without choosing, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set. We do not treat scrolling or continued browsing as consent.
We keep a record of what you consented to and when, for no longer than twelve months, after which we ask again.
Legal basis: strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under Chapter 9, Section 28 of the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (2022:482), and we rely on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR for any personal data they involve. All other cookies are set on the basis of your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.
3. WHAT WE USE AND WHY
3.1 Strictly necessary

3.2 Analytics
These tell us which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where they stop reading. We use this to decide what to fix and what to write next. They are only loaded if you accept analytics cookies.

Google Analytics 4 does not write your full IP address to disk. It uses the address to derive an approximate location, then discards it.
Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited.
Clarity records how a page is used, including scrolling, clicks and mouse movement. The recordings are played back to us as anonymised sessions and combined into heatmaps. Text you type into fields is masked before it leaves your browser, and we do not use Clarity to identify individuals.

3.3 Company identification
This tells us which company a visit came from, so that we can see which organisations take an interest in our technology. It is aimed at organisations rather than at named people, but a company combined with a browsing pattern can in some cases point to a person, so we ask for your consent before loading it.

3.4 Marketing
These let us measure the effect of our advertising and show our ads to people who have already visited the site. They are only loaded if you accept marketing cookies.

4. TAG MANAGEMENT
We load the scripts above through Google Tag Manager. Tag Manager sets no cookies of its own. It reads your consent and then loads only the tags you have allowed.
5. CONTENT LOADED FROM OTHER COMPANIES
Some parts of the site are fetched from servers we do not run. Typefaces come from Google Fonts, and links to LinkedIn and YouTube appear in the footer.
Fetching a file from another company's server sends your IP address and browser details to that company, even when no cookie is set. Following a link to LinkedIn or YouTube takes you to those services, where their own cookie policies apply, not ours.
6. TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EU AND EEA
Our suppliers are contracted through their European entities and process data in the EU where they can. Some of them, in particular Google and Microsoft, may transfer data to the United States for support or storage. Both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and we also rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
7. CONTROLLING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER
Independently of our banner, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies, delete what is already stored, or clear everything when you close the window. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working correctly.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics in every browser you use, through the add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We update this policy when we add, remove or replace a tool on the site. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change means we need a new consent from you, we will ask for it through the banner.
